Music Educator
I have been teaching music for over thirty years. Over those years I have taught thousands of students. I remember giving my first guitar lessons when I was fifteen years old. I loved teaching music then and I still love teaching it today. I believe in the nobility of the profession and am proud to say that I am a music educator.
In 1997 I expanded my private teaching studio and started the Santa Monica Academy of Music, with a commitment to provide high quality music education for students of all levels. Currently, we offer private instruction on thirteen different instruments.
Since 2006 I have been on the music faculty at Cal Poly Pomona. I am in charge of coordinating the guitar studies program at Cal Poly Pomona. I teach various courses, including Applied Studio Guitar, Guitar Ensemble, Guitar Fundamentals, Guitar Literature, Performance Seminar, Musicianship, Music Appreciation, Listening for Style and Structure, Counterpoint, Music Theory, and Advanced Music Theory.
I also teach online guitar lessons (both standard guitar and fretless guitar lessons over Zoom. If you are interested please inquire.
